Crossing Denial |
My car is making a noise. It's a bad noise. I'm trying to ignore it because I know that not only is it a bad noise, it's a very expensive noise. I hate my car, but I really wanted it to hold out until spring.
For some time yesterday, I had convinced my self that the scraping sound must just be road salt on the brake pads. It's not road salt on the brake pads, namely because I think I no longer have brake pads. It's definitely the sound of where a brake pad is supposed to be scraping against the rotor. And I can't seem to drown it out with the radio anymore.
So. My question is: do I get new front brakes (and probably rotors) for this car and keep my original plan to get the new (to me) car in the spring? Is it worth it? Maybe I should just drive to the dealership tomorrow (without braking) and get it then? |
