Actually, just forgive me for being geeky here, but what programmes did you use to design it? Just curious, as I always am when anybody gives me a publication of any kind :p

They wanted me to use Word. Word and I battle it out over simple report formatting issues daily, and I knew that I would have pulled all my hair out before I had a newsletter.

So, I did what every self-respecting girl would do. I batted my eyelashes and talked an unnamed IT guy here into giving me MS Publisher. I went for Quark at first, but an $800 program for just me is pushing it, I suppose. I have to admit that Publisher was better than I thought it would be.

    Word *shudder*

It amazes me that people still think you can design and edit a publication using it. Actually, amazes isn't the right word. Scares is the right word I think.

Publisher's not bad for smaller newsletter stuff. A lot of the industry seem to be turning to InDesign, but Quark's still pretty good, even if it is laced with annoying quirks. Although everything in the office here is completely above board a few of my staff have got *cough* slightly less than legal version of it at home. I could have a word and *cough* see where they got it from *cough cough*

I've heard that things are trending toward InDesign, but I haven't used, or seen for that matter, that one yet.

Wait? Now, what are you saying? Let me get this straight... You don't always have to *buy* software? Do people obtain it by other means? I wouldn't know anything about that.
