Well, apparently it's a good thing that I was a big pussy and made a doctors appointment for the "poison ivy" around my eye. It's not poison ivy. I apparently have Shingles.
If you've had the Chicken Pox virus, the virus lies dormant in your body. They aren't sure what causes it to reappear. Two theories are stress (no) and a lot of sun (yes). It usually follows a dermoid (sp) nerve (like under the eyebrow). I'm on antibiotics and eyedrops and under strict orders to see my eye doctor within 24 hours. The eye is much more swollen and painful today than it was yesterday.
