Almost There
OK, so I need some opinions. Too many colors? Too hard to read the text? The text is ridiculously large? What do you think?

I wanted to go with just the blues and the sand color, but I needed the contrast for the links and the like.

I still have to get Haloscan up and running and put in all your links, but it's coming along slowly. It's been pretty fun, but time-consuming. I'll be back to reading blogs really soon!

and stuff...
I've been neglecting the blog right in the middle of her rebirth. I just haven't had time. Plus I'm trying to actually learn what I'm supposed to be doing so I've been going to a site that Wes recommended.

I think I want to volunteer with a literacy program, does anyone know of one in the Philadelphia area?

I have posts planned. I'll try to get up to speed this weekend, kids.

ACK!
OK, this is probably going to be a bigger project (and take substantially more effort) than I thought. But what the heck? Expect this whole thing to be quite fluid for the next few days (weeks, months...)

Thanks for your patience and input.

Template Changes
Well, I've got that feeling of spring in my bones and it's definitely time for some blog spring cleaning. Plus, I really wanted to try my hand at making my own title bar like dooce does (she changes hers every month!). As you can probably tell, I don't know how to use photoshop (or the reasonable facsimile thereof that I have on my computer), but I kind of like this for a first attempt. Now I just have to figure out how to get it all the way across the screen.

As far as life in general goes, it's been hard, since CB left, to get back into the swing of things. I threw myself back into work with abandon so as not to sit around moping and I've done fairly well so far. Mainly because in reality I'm really really happy. Happy. Amazing, isn't it?

Not a Post, just some Pictures
I'm buried under a pile of reports at work and trying desperately to catch back up so I don't have time to do the tell-all post I know you are waiting for. I will, however, post some pictures of the past two wonderful weeks:

This is the view from our room at the Tropicana in Atlantic City where we went the first weekend to see Collective Soul.

Collective Soul. I love them. CB had no idea who they were, so he was a pretty good sport to come to the concert. It was awesome as always.

Us on the beach Sunday morning just prior to winning $375 out of a slot machine we put $5 in! Note the product placement.

This is a picture taken out the window of Sarah's apartment the same Sunday, the night of her fun Oscar party that CB and I were too tired to enjoy properly. Thanks for being a great hostess, Sarah!

Our take on the view from the Empire State Building. I hadn't been up there since 6th grade. Still an amazing sight and site.

The FBI building in D.C. I was so afraid we were going to get arrested for taking this picture!

Well, see Target had these bunny ears in their dollar section. . .

More to come. . .

Today in the Travel Section: The British Experience
Ladies and gentlemen. Boy do we have a treat for you today. I have with me, right here in Starbucks, an authentic British gentleman, CB. Let's ask him a few questions, shall we?

Roving Reporter: First, CB, what is your overall impression of America, though so far you've only seen Southeastern Pennsylvania?

Cute Brit: Well, what can I say? Erm... it's all very different, I mean, different in a nice way, it's very quaint and picturesque and I really like the accents, oh and the coffee!

RR: The coffee? You mean Starbucks?

CB: Starbucks? No, being sat here in this cafe is just like being at home, apart from not having some youths pretending they are old enough to handle a Grande Latte with a double shot, Dunkin' Donuts is the future, I've tasted it....

RR: Perhaps you could open the first Dunkin' Donuts franchise in Britain. Anyway how's the place where you are staying?

CB: Yeah, it's really cool, it's got a bathroom and everything.

RR: Yes I suppose that's unusual in your country, isn't it?

CB: Yeah, bathrooms are outlawed where I live, we have to pee behind trees and use leaves to "clean up".

RR: That King Arthur is one crazy tyrant. But since you're here now, in a civilized country. Do you have any plans to venture out of Pennsylvania?

CB: Well, at the weekend, I'm going to some place on the coast, Atlantic City so I'm told, I think Elvis lives there or something? And you can gamble legally apparently.

RR: Ah, the Vegas of the East.

CB: No, you can't compare Johnny Vegas to Elvis, he's a completely different class....

RR: Um, right. Sure. effin' Brits. Right then, how about the food? Missing the steak and kidney pie and the Black Pudding?

CB: Everywhere I look, it's all British food, like McDonalds, Pizza Hut and TGI Fridays.

RR: And I'm assuming you're missing all the rain and dreary London fog.

CB: I'm sick of this common misconception, just because I am ENGLISH does NOT mean I am from London. I live so far away from there, it probably takes less time to get to the States than to London, especially at peak times. But the weather here is great, I mean, they tell everyone its gonna snow, and they shut schools and stuff, but then it just rains....and rains...and rains, ALL day, where as we had snow yesterday back in England....

RR: *yawn* Ok then. Have you found a huge difference between British women and American women?

CB: Well, yeah, I've met one really nice girl already, she's amazing and makes me laugh so much. I get to spend more time with her over the next 12 days, so I'll let you all know how it progresses.

RR: Sounds promising. Hopefully she doesn't turn out to be an insane serial killer who lures British men overseas so she can have her wicked Black Widow way with them and then eats their heads and keeps their eyeballs in the freezer. So good luck with that. Hope to hear more from you in the future. Any last words...er...I mean anything else you want to say?

CB: Taxi!!!!!

Breaker Breaker
Today is CB day.

No not the kind that truckers use to tell each other of approaching "smokeys"...although come to think about it, maybe they just use cell phones now?

Anyway.

Today is the day that I pick CB up from the airport. I have to work until noon (It's 8am now) and it's quite difficult to sit still. I putzed and futzed in the shower this morning, and I got my hair to do this curly, Meg Ryan City of Angels kind of thing. But who knows how long it will stay that way.

Right so I can't really focus on doing a coherent post, so I thought I'd leave you with one of my all time favorite quotes and get your thoughts on it:

"Humans hardly ever learn from the experience of others. They learn--when they do, which isn't often--on their own, the hard way."
